Groot Brakrivier/Great Brak River nestles in a perfect Garden Route setting. The tranquil village is situated on the road from Mossel Bay to George and is a popular holiday resort. The Great Brak River Museum and Information Centre (old school house built in 1902) in Amy Searle Street represents the history of the village after the arrival of the Searle family in the late 1850s, the usage of water power through the past century and the local history of the Khoisan. The Information Centre is housed in the Museum. The centre has brochures, maps as well as information on hiking routes, adventure & eco tourism available in the area.
The Watson Shoe Factory is described as the reason for the towns existence.
The village is also home to the biggest known Pepper Tree in South Africa (11,2 metres in diameter) and the Wolwedans Dam, where you can enjoy the magnificent views and unique dam wall.

- If the property is currently running a "Special" greater than 15% then the "Special" price will apply. (No further savings needs to be offered). EXCEPT in the case where the "Special" is lower than 15%. In that case the 15% will apply.

(Properties that pick and chose in which seasons to participate run the risk of being removed from the programme completely. Allowing selective participation defeats the integrity of this initiative).
- The property must not inflate the price before the 15% is applied. Prices displayed should be the rack rate. (The official or advertised price of a room).
- The property must honour any bookings made while the property was participating as a $elect Stays property.
- The property must honour the agreement and the spirit in which the initiative is designed to benefit local tourism.
